This is actually nine books bound in five thick volumes, with the final volume featuring scores of plates of “Select Specimens of Natural History.” Unnumbered 10-page dedication to King George III, lxxxiii, 535 pages; viiii, 718 pages; viii, 759 pages, map; x, 695 pages, two folding maps; xiv, 230 pages (plus unnumbered pages of index), very large folding map. Overall a sumptuous set suited to be a key cornerstone in any collection of Africana. Overall condition is good and the exceptionally thick, high quality paper used has stood the test of time for well over two centuries in fine fashion.
