Horace Waller (Editor), Livingstone’s Last Journals. Two volumes. London: John Murray, 1874. xvi, 360; viii, 346 pages. First edition. Hardbound. Illustrated, folding maps at end of each volume (the one in the first volume inside pocket at back). An important set, although Waller took considerable liberties in adjusting the journals to suit his (and prevailing public) views. Books show appreciable wear. The corners are bumped, the spines of both are cracked and that of the second volume is breaking away. Internally quite clean and only minimal foxing. Could be rebound, using existing covers, to make a really fetching set. Rare and desirable. $150.
