Hardcover, 438 Pages.
Published in conjunction with the C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana, this hefty, oversize (11.75x12") volume is both a biography and a record of Russell's work, tracing the phases of his life, displaying the full range of his published work, and showing how his art gained worldwide recognition and implanted his vision of the Old West in the popular mind. It contains 1,038 illustrations, about 550 of them in color, including personal images of Russell and his family and friends, as well as reproductions of his watercolors, oils, and sculptures. Also featured are many of his printed and published collectables and memorabilia that are held in private collections and are rarely available for public viewing.
